Through Bell Rose Capital, Billy Carson is putting established customer relationships and distribution at the center of a strategy to expand complementary businesses.

Businesses looking to expand can spend years developing products, then spend heavily again to introduce them to each new customer. Even a profitable company can reach a point where its next stage of growth depends on finding a better route to people already inclined to buy what it sells.

An established audience can give a growing business a head start. In research published in October, Boston Consulting Group surveyed 940 marketers and influencer-agency professionals. Respondents in its highest-performing group were 12 percentage points more likely than other marketers to prioritize audience trust. The research examined brands' use of creator marketing, where relationships with audiences help products gain attention and credibility.

Billy Carson is bringing that commercial insight into Bell Rose Capital's acquisition strategy. The publicly traded holding company, which trades under BELR, plans to acquire complementary businesses that can gain distribution through 4biddenknowledge, the media, education and consumer business he founded.

Audience compatibility is one of Bell Rose's acquisition criteria. Alongside a target's existing revenue and operations, the company considers whether its products fit the interests of people 4BK already reaches.

“Before we acquire a business, we want to know where its next customers could come from,” Carson says. “If its products fit our community, we already have a place to begin that conversation.”

Bell Rose acquired 4biddenknowledge earlier this year, bringing its streaming, publishing, education and consumer operations into the public company. That established business now provides the foundation for a broader acquisition program.

In an August 11 announcement, Bell Rose confirmed it was reviewing streaming and software platforms for potential acquisition. Its evaluation criteria included infrastructure scalability, the strength of each platform's customer acquisition model, compatibility with 4BK TV's content and international distribution potential. The company described those evaluations as preliminary and subject to due diligence.

“Every target we evaluate must strengthen our ecosystem and accelerate our growth,” Carson said in the announcement.

Choosing businesses the audience already understands

Bell Rose's investor presentation develops that strategy through two target profiles: an established subscription-streaming platform and a profitable niche e-commerce business. Both would bring existing operations and customers into the group.

For streaming, the presentation identifies recurring subscriptions, proven retention and mature billing and distribution technology as priorities. An acquired service could carry 4BK programming while introducing its existing customers to related offerings from the wider group. Its infrastructure would also support the delivery of that programming.

The e-commerce profile places particular emphasis on repeat purchases and products aligned with the interests of the 4BK community. The presentation identifies wellness, personal development and adjacent categories as areas of interest, alongside strong margins and clean operations.

“A company should bring something people already want,” Carson explains. “Our role is to put it in front of more of the right people and give that business more room to grow.”

The shared subject matter provides a starting point for distribution. A learning product about ancient civilizations, for example, could be introduced alongside programming on that subject, with a sample lesson showing viewers what the course offers. A streaming acquisition could gain new titles from the 4BK catalog while adding its own programming to offers aimed at existing subscribers.

Those examples illustrate how the planned model would work. In each case, the business contributes a product or capability, and 4BK provides a setting where prospective customers can understand its use.

The distinction also shapes which acquisitions belong together. Streaming technology can improve how content reaches viewers. A complementary commerce business can add products relevant to the same community. Each serves a different function, with the connection to existing customers informing the acquisition decision.

Making distribution part of the business

BELR's investor presentation outlines shared analytics, customer management and offers connecting products across the group. Its proposed integration would help the businesses identify overlapping customer interests and coordinate introductions, rather than maintain entirely separate marketing systems.

A company acquired by Bell Rose could introduce its products through 4BK's existing media and education channels. The acquired business would contribute its own products, technology and customers, giving the group additional capabilities to work with.

“The work continues after the deal closes,” Carson says. “An acquired business should gain a clear route into our distribution, with an offer that makes sense to the people receiving it.”

The proposed integrations are designed to reduce the cost of reaching suitable customers and create more opportunities for repeat business. Those are commercial objectives of the acquisition plan, whose execution depends on the businesses selected and how they are integrated.

Someone paying for a streaming subscription still needs a reason to consider a course or another product. Bell Rose's strategy puts that question into the acquisition process: what would the business add, who would use it, and how would those customers discover it? For Carson, the existing audience gives the company a place to start answering those questions before a deal closes.
